Privacy Policy
This policy explains how xdsgn handles personal data across the apps we make. It covers Xreadr (iOS) and Xchangr (macOS).

Xreadr (iOS)
Sign-in and account
Xreadr requires an account. You can sign in with Apple or Google. When you do, the provider shares your name and email address with us so we can create and identify your account. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, we receive a private relay address instead of your real one.
What we store on our backend
Your account data is stored on a backend hosted with Supabase in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany). Specifically, we store:
- Your profile — your account identity (name and email from sign-in)
- Your library entries — metadata about books you add, such as title and identifier
- Your reading progress
- Collections you create
- Book ratings you give
- Saved vocabulary and words
- Your app settings
What stays on your device
The actual book files you import are stored only on your device. We do not upload your book files to our servers.
AI features
When you select text and request an AI action (such as translation or explanation), the selected text is sent through our backend to OpenAI to generate the response. We send only the text needed for that specific action — nothing else. Per OpenAI's API usage policy, text submitted via the API is not used to train OpenAI's models.
Analytics and advertising
Xreadr has no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs.
Xchangr (macOS)
Xchangr fetches public exchange-rate data from open.er-api.com to show currency conversions. It does not require an account and does not collect any personal data. Your saved favorites and settings are stored locally on your Mac.
Data location and transfers
Backend data for Xreadr is stored in the EU (Germany) via Supabase. When you use AI features, selected text is processed by OpenAI, whose servers are located in the United States.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as you have an account. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at hello@xdsgn.dev or support@xdsgn.dev with a deletion request, and we will remove your data.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing hello@xdsgn.dev. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Third-party services
We rely on the following services, each of which has its own privacy terms:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple
- Google — Google Sign-In
- Supabase — backend infrastructure and data hosting (EU)
- OpenAI — AI text processing for Xreadr features
- open.er-api.com — public exchange-rate data (Xchangr; no personal data sent)
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised. Continued use of our apps after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
